Per the Mirror:
German international Schurrle is known to be on the shopping lists of a host of top European sides - including Arsenal. The 22 year-old won't come cheap, though, and would command a fee of at least £20million in the next window.
It will be interesting to see if Leverkusen decide to sell Schurrle while the club is still in the Bundesliga title race.
They are currently eight points behind league leaders Bayern Munich, and after not qualifying for this year's Champions League tournament, the club could decide to keep Schurrle to ensure that they finish in the top four of the table, and earn a place in the competition next year.
If the German club are interested in selling Schurrle, making a bid would be a smart investment for the Blues.
The young star is a talented attacking player who can score goals and dribble very well. He also has pace and playmaking abilities. Schurrle can provide some energy and determination into the Chelsea attack, which are two things they have lacked at times over the last month or so.
He has scored three goals this season, and has proven to be durable by starting in all 15 of Leverkusen's league games thus far.
With several Chelsea forwards having difficulties finding the back of the net recently, the Blues could definitely use another player who can add some width to the squad and also score goals.
If the Blues can complete a deal for Schurrle that is for £25 million or less, then the move must be made.
Getting a young talent like Schurrle without having to break the bank would be a victory for Chelsea in the January transfer window.
Chelsea are 10 points behind Manchester City in the league table, but they aren't out of the race title race yet.
Adding a player of Schurrle's caliber would help the Blues finish the second half of the 2012-13 season on a strong note.
