The New York Giants have asked about star wide receiver Braylon Edwards, according to Ken Palmer of the Giant Inquirer.

This could be a big trade for either or both teams, depending on if or who gets traded away. Since the beginning of the offseason, many sources claim the Giants are shopping Mathias Kiwanuka, but no trades have solidified.

The talks are dying down as the Giants do not want to trade away there strong third-down receiver in Steve Smith, but reportedly offered either Manningham or Hixon, and both were options were negated by the Browns.

If the Giants foresee no positive outcome in playing the waiting game with Burress, they may decide to give away the two picks they received for trading Shockey and another smaller receiver to help coax the Browns into dealing Edwards.

By obtaining Edwards, the New York Giants would solidify numerous chances to make it deep into the playoffs with a strong, reliable tandem of running backs in Bradshaw and Jacobs ,along with a big-time receiver like Braylon Edwards.
