The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, and John Cena.
These are the names of some of the greatest stars in the history of the WWE, but there is one that is missing from the list.
I know what you're thinking, "Who is Charles Robinson?"
Well, in this writer's opinion, Robinson is the greatest referee in the history of the WWE.
You've all seen him on RAW, SmackDown, and various pay-per-view shows over the years. He was with the WCW before transferring over to the WWE in 2001.
The reason that Robinson is so great in the ring is that he shows more emotion than some of the wrestlers in the matches he's calling.
The man reacts as if he is the one taking the hits and slams.
You can see the pain on his face and in turn it pulls the audience further into the match.
I can tell you, with complete honesty, that when my friends and I are watching a WWE event and Robinson comes to the ring to referee we go crazy because we know we are about to see a fantastic match.
The next time you see him pop into the ring watch him closely and enjoy.
There have been many WWE matches where Robinson is more exciting to watch than the two superstars battling it out in the ring.
The man can even make a slow, uneventful divas match enjoyable.
If you want to see more Robinson then watch the film "Ready to Rumble" starring David Arquette where Robinson appears as a WCW referee. Or pay attention to the ref in the video game WWE '12 because the character is based on Robinson.
So, the next time you and your friends are having the "Greatest of WWE Superstar" conversation, make sure that Charles Robinson is not forgotten.
The man never disappoints.
