Meet Wallace: Chelsea's New Brazilian Fullback
Chelsea have confirmed the signing of 18-year-old Brazilian fullback Wallace, who will join the club at the end of the season from Fluminense.
This as per Chelsea's official website:
An attacking right-back, Wallace Oliveirados Santos was born on May 1, 1994, and made his senior debut this year at the age of 17.
He has since gone on to appear 18 times in the league for the first team, helping them to the Brazilian league championship, the Rio State League and the Guanabara Cup.
Wallace represented Brazil at the Under-17 level and was part of the Fluminense side that won the Brazilian title this season.
He will link up with fellow Brazilians David Luiz, Oscar, Ramires and Lucas Piazon when he arrives at Stamford Bridge and face competition from the likes of Cesar Azpilicueta, Branislav Ivanovic and Paolo Ferreira in the right-back spot.
A quick look through Wallace's YouTube showreels tells you he's quick, very comfortable on the ball and loves to bomb forward down the right flank. He appears confident crossing with either foot and is not afraid to run at players.
The teenager will likely need some time to settle in England, but Chelsea fans may allow themselves to contemplate the exciting thought of the Brazilian linking up with Eden Hazard down their right.
Here's some reaction to the deal on Twitter:
And Chelsea fans, is Wallace really what you need right now, when perhaps a goalscorer is in order with Fernando Torres still firing blanks?

Chelsea deal for Wallace was sorted out a month ago when Di Matteo was manager. Nothing to do with Benitez. Or indeed Di Matteo ...
