UFC on Fox 5 Results: Alexander Gustafsson Defeats Shogun Rua

Alexander Gustafsson defeated Shogun Rua in one of the most anticipated events on the UFC on Fox 5's main card Saturday night, winning by a unanimous decision.

Rua found his back against the wall as the strong use of Gustafsson's legs did massive damage, slowly wearing him down throughout the fight.

Fans in attendance at Seattle's KeyArena were treated to an exciting bout between two of UFC's most talented fighters. The UFC on Fox has been a success in 2012, and this weekend's events were a great reason why fans love this series.

Gustafsson's victory will certainly help him earn a title fight some time in the near future, and his performance against Rua proves that he is one of the most impressive rising stars in the UFC.

He came into this matchup with Rua on a five-fight winning streak, and with another victory, his overall record has improved to 15-1. His UFC record is now 7-1.

With another defeat, Rua's overall record has fallen to 21-7 and his UFC record is now 5-5. He has been defeated in three of his last five UFC fights. His career is certainly on the decline, and it will be interesting to see who Rua fights next.

After watching Gustafsson's performance in the UFC on Fox 5, there's no question that the 25-year-old from Sweden is ready to contend with the best fighters in his weight class.

He's ready for new challenges, and is one man that opponents don't want to fight right now. Gustafsson's confidence is sky high right now, and he deserves a shot at the title soon.
