San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mario Manningham left the team's Week 13 road game against the St. Louis Rams with a shoulder injury.

The Niners will have Manningham in action for Sunday night's key NFC West showdown in Seattle against the Seahawks. Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com broke the news:

San Francisco will need all the help it can muster to pull off a second consecutive exceptional road victory, and Manningham's playmaking ability definitely helps the cause.

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mario Manningham will miss Sunday night's game against the New England Patriots due to a shoulder injury, the team announced via its official Twitter account:

This is the second consecutive game that Manningham has been forced to miss with the injury.

Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee reported that Manningham, who notched five catches for 37 yards in the Edward Jones Dome prior to leaving the game, would be out:

The hard-nosed secondary of the Niners' NFC West foe has stifled the team's offense, limiting new starting quarterback Colin Kaepernick to a lot of underneath throws, as evidenced by Manningham's low yards-per-catch total.

Without Manningham in the fold, life will be all the more difficult for the remainder of the afternoon for the Niners.

The Super Bowl hero Manningham was the marquee name of several prized acquisitions made in the offseason to provide San Francisco with more playmakers on the outside, a move designed to complement its exceptional running game. Manningham has battled through pain all year long—including a shoulder ailment—but was still second on the team in receptions entering Week 13.

Jim Harbaugh's hard-nosed team is in the midst of yet another defensive struggle, leading 13-10 in the fourth quarter.
