Minnesota Twins 2008 Preview: Should Twins Fans Be Scared?
This offseason hasn't been the best for the Minnesota Twins.

First, Torii Hunter left for Anaheim to play with the Angels. This leaves a void for the team in center field. Torii Hunter is one of the best outfielders in the game.

The Twins outfield will most likely have Delmon Young playing left field, Carlos Gomez in center field, and Michael Cuddyer in right.

We'll see how everything plays out with the loss of a superstar in Hunter.

Another big departure for the Twins was Johan Santana.

Johan was traded to the New York Mets. The Twins got four prospects as a result.

Chris Gomez, who will play center field in place of Hunter, has the most game experience. I really don't think this was a good trade for the Twins. They lost a great pitcher and gained basically nothing.

Francisco Liriano will most likely be the ace. He missed the whole 2007 season because of Tommy John surgery. Boof Bonser and newly added Livan Hernandez will also be starters in '08. We'll see how good Liriano can be. So far in Spring Training, he hasn't looked that bad.

I don't think Twins fans should be concerned.

Sure we lost Torii Hunter and Johan Santana, but they can be replaced by all of the new talent in the MLB. Having Francisco Liriano back in the lineup is huge. The Twins like to play small ball and they will continue to do that this year.

Justin Morneau and Joe Mauer are back along with Cuddyer. They are the leaders of this team and will strive to make everyone around them better.

Look for the Minnesota Twins to be in a fight for top spot in the A.L Central in '08.
