Denver Nuggets vs. Los Angeles Lakers: Live Score, Results and Game Highlights
The Los Angeles Lakers turned in a dominant performance on Friday night, defeating the Denver Nuggets by a final score of 122-103.
Led by Dwight Howard and a huge effort from their bench, the Lakers dominated each and every quarter, pushing the tempo in true Mike D'Antoni fashion. The Lakers outscored the Nuggets 20-10 on the fast break, simply beating them at their own game.
Howard finished the game with 28 points and 20 rebounds, while bench contributors Antawn Jamison and Jodie Meeks scored 33 and 21 points respectively.
Jamison and Meeks combined to knock down 12 three-pointers, helping the Lakers shoot 51.5 percent from beyond the arc (17-33 overall).
Coming off of a brutal 106-105 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night, the Nuggets couldn't find their legs, or any offensive continuity.
Things finally came together for Mike D'Antoni and the Lakers, although Pau Gasol was a non-factor in the scoring department. Gasol did pitch in with eight assists and seven rebounds, but he mustered just six points and was forced to play away from the basket all night long.

The Lakers were in control of this one from the get-go, and they didn't even have to rely on their big guns to take this one.
Kobe Bryant helped out with 14 points and eight assists, but it was Antawn Jamison and Jodie Meeks who were the stars of the show. Jamison totaled 33 points on 13-of-19 shooting while Meeks poured in 21 points of his own (seven three-pointers).
Dwight Howard paced the Lakers with 28 points and 20 rebounds, even hitting a three-pointer as time expired in the fourth quarter.
Jamison is the 1st Laker since Shaq in 1998 to have a 30 or more point game as a reserve & only the 10th occurrence since 1985.

The Nuggets looked tired, lost and incapable of finding a rhythm, as their athletic roster was slowed down in the half-court all night long.
Danilo Gallinari scored a team-high 19 points while newcomer Andre Iguodala finished with 14 points of his own.

Los Angeles 113, Denver 101 - 4:50 remaining in Q4: Jordan Hamilton really showing some fight here, as he's got a career-high 13 points on 6-of-12 shooting.
This one looks to be out of reach, but it's refreshing to see Hamilton giving it his all down the stretch.
Los Angeles 113, Denver 97 - 6:30 remaining in Q4:
Here's video of Andre Iguodala's missed fastbreak dunk from the first half.
Los Angeles 113, 95, 6:30 remaining in Q4: Antawn Jamison knocks down yet another three-pointer, giving him 31 points on the night (12-of-17 shooting).
This is how good the Lakers' bench duo of Meeks and Jamison has been tonight:
Antawn Jamison (31) and Jodie Meeks (21) have combined for more points than Denver's starting five (51)

Los Angeles 107, Denver 90 - 8:00 remaining in Q4: Jodie Meeks just tied his career-high with his seventh three-pointer on the night.
On the other end, Jordan Hamilton is starting to show up for the Nuggets (nine points).
The Lakers are shooting 55 percent from beyond the arc tonight. Yes, you read that right.

Los Angeles 102, Denver 82 - 11:00 remaining in Q4: Jodie Meeks' sixth three-pointer of the night puts the Lakers over the century mark, and extends the Laker lead to 20.
This sums things up quite nicely:
MEEKS HAS ALL YOUR THREE POINTERS.

Los Angeles 97, Denver 82 - End of Q3: The Lakers continue to pour it on, thanks to the contributions of Dwight Howard, Kobe Bryant and Antawn Jamison.
Howard has paced the Lakers with 21 points and 16 rebounds, while Bryant and Jamison have posted 14 and 23 points respectively.
The Nuggets simply cannot find a rhythm, and are starting to become over-reliant on the three-point shot to stay competitive in this one.
Danilo Gallinari continues to lead the Nuggets with 16 points, while Andre Iguodala has chipped in with 14 points on 4-of-10 shooting.
Who woulda thunk a Meeks to Jamison assist would perfectly sum up the night? Lakers up 97-82 after 3. Jamison = 23 pts. Meeks = 15
— Dave McMenamin (@mcten) December 1, 2012
Los Angeles 88, Denver 73 - 3:00 remaining in Q3: Metta World Peace, whose number has seldom been called this evening, chimes in with a three-pointer to stretch the L.A. lead to 15.
The Nuggets look extremely tired after a grueling loss against Golden State last night, whereas the Lakers look to have plenty of fresh legs.
MWP's 2nd 3 of the night is the 11th for the Lakers, in 22 attempts. They were 6 of 28 against Indiana.

Los Angeles 82, Denver 71 - 4:30 remaining in Q3: As Antawn Jamison picks up a bucket in transition it's become clear that the Lakers are beating the Nuggets at their own game.
The Lakers have pushed the pace in true D'Antoni fashion en route to a double-digit lead once again.
Antawn Jamison continues to post big numbers under D'Antoni, as he currently has 16 on the night.

Los Angeles 80, Denver 71 - 5:37 remaining in Q3: With a break in the action we should mention Ty Lawson's numbers. Lawson has seven points on 2-of-7 shooting from the field, with five turnovers and four assists.
Lawson's creativity has been stifled all night long, and his speed has been neutralized as the Nuggets have been forced to play in the half-court more than they would ordinarily prefer.
If this pace is sustained for the rest of the game, the Nuggets will require heavy doses of Andre Miller to pull this one out.
Los Angeles 78, Denver 71 - 7:00 remaining in Q3: The Lakers have picked the Nuggets' defense apart, but the Lakers are not playing any defense of their own.
Both teams are currently shooting over 50 percent from the field.
Meanwhile, Dwight Howard already has a double-double.
Gasol just matched Kobe's 5 assists on an alley-oop for Howard's dunk. Dwight has a 21-point, 11-board double-double.
— Mike Trudell (@LakersReporter) December 1, 2012
Los Angeles 78, Denver 67 - 8:00 remaining in Q3: A pretty feed from Pau Gasol to Dwight Howard results in a one-handed alley-oop, upping Howard's point total to 21.
Gasol may not be having an impact in the scoring column, but he's found other ways to manipulate Kenneth Faried.
Los Angeles 73, Denver 63 - 10:20 remaining in Q3: Back-to-back three pointers by the Nuggets from Gallinari and Iguodala have the Nuggets within ten early on here in the third quarter.
Los Angeles 71, Denver 57 - Halftime: Some perspective on the Lakers' impressive first-half numbers:
#Lakers scored 71 points in the first half. Its their most points in a 1st half since November 2, 2010 #Showtime

Los Angeles 71 , Denver 57 - End of Q2: Just as the Nuggets began to make a run, Kobe Bryant and the Lakers thwarted their efforts.
At halftime, Bryant has 12 points and Dwight Howard leads the Lakers with 16 points and seven rebounds.
Pau Gasol has remained fairly quiet, managing just six points as he's been forced to play out of his comfort zone with Howard camping out in the post.
For Denver, Danilo Gallinari leads all scorers with 13 points (3-of-5 from three), while Andre Iguodala, Andre Miller and JaVale McGee all have contributed eight points.
Los Angeles 63, Denver 55 - 2:10 remaining in Q2:
An update on Dwight Howard's brief absence from the floor:
Dwight Howard suffered a laceration to his left eyelid, but he's being treated by Gary Vitti in the locker room and will return.

Los Angeles 61, Denver 52 - 3:21 remaining in Q2: Gallinari is up to 13 points on the night, and the Nuggets are quietly shooting 57 percent from the field.
By comparison, the Lakers are knocking down 59 percent of their shots.
In other news, the Nuggets just recorded their second blown dunk on the night (the first courtesy of JaVale McGee) thanks to Andre Iguodala.
I have no idea how he missed that one. Cuffed it inside rim and everything.

This game has all of the makings of a classic Western Conference shootout.

Los Angeles 57, Denver 50 - 4:25 remaining in Q2: Denver getting back into it now, thanks to another three from Gallinari and some crafty work from Andre Miller in the post. Truly the ageless wonder.
Los Angeles 57, Denver 43 - 5:54 remaining in Q2: Antawn Jamison and Jodie Meeks are a combined 9-of-12 shooting for 27 points as we have a break in the action.
To some degree it has to be a relief for Kobe Bryant that he doesn't have to shoulder the load for all 48 minutes.
There have been very few positive about the Nuggets' performance thus far, but one has been the play of Danilo Gallinari, who has eight points on 3-of-3 shooting (2-of-2 from three).
