Ronda Rousey or Gina Carano: Who Is More Important to WMMA?
Ronda Rousey made history recently when she became the first woman to ever sign a contract with the UFC.
It's a big moment, both for the sport and the women who aspire to fight at its highest levels. Rousey is a trailblazer of the highest order, and her signing—and subsequent promotion, which will no doubt be heavy—will enable top female fighters to practice their craft on the same level as the best men's fighters in the world.
But the signing also made me think. Who is more important to women's MMA: Rousey or Gina Carano, who blazed trails of her own in Strikeforce before going on to a burgeoning movie career?
I discuss the topic in my latest video. Take a look, and then leave your thoughts in the comments below.
