San Francisco 49ers vs. St. Louis Rams: Live Score, Highlights and Analysis
49ers lose to the Rams 16-13 in OT
The San Francisco 49ers (8-3-1) were handed their third loss of the 2012 NFL season by their division rival. The St. Louis Rams (5-6-1) played with the Niners all day long, looking great defensively for 5 quarters.
A rematch that ended in a tie in Week 10 went to overtime once more.
49ers starting QB Colin Kaepernick failed to generate offense consistently throughout the day. While he showed some glimpses of good play, two of the Rams' scores came off of Kaepernick mistakes -- including their only TD of the day.
The San Francisco loss comes at a very strange time. The team is trying to move forward into the Kaepernick era, but this performance will no doubt attract some naysayers. The Niners are title contenders, yet they cannot convincingly defeat a lackluster Rams team.
The 49ers missed an opportunity to help themselves today.

And it's time to find out what Colin Kaepernick is made of. Does he have the Favre gene? The Brady gene? If he is able to conquer this moment, it would be a huge statement in his young career.
