The Toronto Maple Leafs are in 12th place in the Eastern Conference with 80 points, just four points behind the Boston Bruins and the Philadelphia Flyers for the seventh and eighth playoff spots.
Toronto have six games left that means 12 more points are up for grabs, but it’s going to tougher than it sounds for the Leafs, all will be against opponents who are ahead of them in the standings.
Lately, the Leafs have been playing the best hockey of the season, and Vesa “Vezina” Toskala has really been giving the Leafs a chance at making the playoffs.
The Toronto Maple Leafs lost their best player in captain Mats Sundin to injury; he sustained a groin injury March 12 at Philadelphia. Sundin has 77 points in 72 games.
The Leafs also lost Nik Antropov, who sustained a partial cartilage tear in his knee March 15 against Buffalo Sabres.
In order for the Toronto to make the playoffs, I believe they will have to win the rest of their games this season and hope that Boston, Philadelphia Flyers, Florida Panthers, Buffalo, and the Washington Capitals lose as much games as possible.
But Boston plays Toronto twice and Buffalo twice so when they play Buffalo one of those teams is going to get two points the first night and two points the second night which is not good for the Maple Leafs.
Washington plays Florida twice which means there is two points up for grabs each of those nights so it will be very hard for the Leafs to get a playoff spot but I know they can do it.
My dad says he will be lucky if he sees the Toronto win the cup in his lifetime. But I know he is wrong, the Maple Leafs will win the cup in the next 10 years I know that for a fact.

Wow, I wish I knew that for a fact the Leafs would win the cup.
Well if the Leafs win the next 2 games, I'd say they have a good chance at making
this years playoffs at least.
