FULL TIME: CHELSEA 0, FULHAM 0
Chelsea improved in the second half but never had enough to break down Fulham. In fact, Fulham easily could have won. In the end, a draw was more than fair.
So far for Rafa Benitez, it's two scoreless draws in as many matches. The mood is dour at Stamford Bridge, and this Chelsea team looks completely wrong.
Might Roman Abramovich be regretting his decision to sack Roberto Di Matteo?
Juan Mata takes a Chelsea corner from the right. The ball trickles out to Azpilicueta, whose stinging shot fizzes wide.
The final whistle blows. The fans boo. It's another scoreless draw for Benitez.
Riise has a shot deflected out for a corner. Fulham take it short and appear content to run down the clock.
Except that they lose the ball and allow Chelsea to break.
90'—CHE 0, FUL 0
Riether bursts forward for Fulham and crosses for Petric, who can't get a touch on the ball.
On the other end, Marin's pass is way too high for Ramires.
89'—CHE 0, FUL 0
Chelsea lay siege to the Fulham box. Marko Marin is ruled offside on the left.
Loudest 'One Di Matteo' of the night rings round the Bridge. Abramovich is here.— James Olley (@JamesOlley) November 28, 2012
Mladen Petric replaces Hugo Rodallega.
Eden Hazard makes. Marko Marin comes on.
Kerim Frei falls in the Chelsea box. The referee, who is perfectly positioned, waves play on.
Right call? Replays showed little if any contact.
Hazard lifts a pass over the Fulham defense for Torres, who then shoots with a side volley. It gets past Schwarzer and Aaron Hughes clears, but it's unclear whether the ball was heading into the goal.
Fernando Torres controls a long pass in the box with his chest, then turns and tries to shoot.
Schwarzer comes off his line quickly to grab the ball before Torres can shoot. Should he have headed the ball on goal instead?
Riise races onto a pass at the edge of the box and unleashes a bullet of a low shot.
Cech gets down to his right and saves well. Nice work all around.
Do we finally have a game?
Dimitar Berbatov takes the kick from about 20 yards. His curled effort hits the wall.
Berbatov leads a Fulham break. It looks like the move is over, when David Luiz foolishly fouls a Fulham player away from the ball.
What a dumb play.
Free kick to Fulham in a dangerous spot.
Chelsea's Oriol Romeu fells Dimitar Berbatov with a rugby tackle. Easy decision for the yellow card.
Moments earlier, Ivanovic fell down in the Fulham box as a cross came in. Didn't look like much of anything there, to be honest.
Chelsea getting frustrated?
Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic earns a yellow card, presumably for dissent. Free kick for Fulham, and Chris Baird takes a hard, low shot right at Petr Cech.
Mata takes a corner on the right. Ivanovic redirects his header low and wide of the far post.
Much better from Chelsea. Of course, it came courtesy of Mata. Go figure.
Chelsea-Fulham on one screen and Arsenal-Everton on the other is surreal. Like watching two different sports.— Kevin McCauley (@kevinmccauley) November 28, 2012
Juan Mata replaces Ryan Bertrand for Chelsea. Can't imagine why Bertrand started ahead of Mata.
A minute later, Chris Baird replaces Mahamadou Diarra for Fulham.
62'—CHE 0, FUL 0
The match has returned to its permanent state of lull. Karagounis takes a low shot from outside the box. Cech saves easily.
On the bright side…
Mata coming on. This game needs something.— James Olley (@JamesOlley) November 28, 2012
Well at least Riise is providing some comedy value to this game— WAGNH (@WAGNH_CFC) November 28, 2012
Fulham have a huge chance to take a shock lead. Karagounis plays a long ball over the top for John Arne Riise, who slips behind the Chelsea defense and runs in on goal.
He puts the ball on his preferred left foot but whiffs on his shot. Wow!
53'—CHE 0, FUL 0
Now Hazard blows past Senderos and slips a ball through the Fulham defense for Oscar.
It's just a bit too long and Schwarzer collects.
That's much better from Chelsea, who finally seem to have found some speed.
Oscar suddenly takes possession of the ball in the box. He's in a dangerous spot, but Diarra gets a toe in and knocks the ball away.
Signs of life from Chelsea. Can they build on it?
47'—CHE 0, FUL 0
Chelsea manage a couple long-distance shots quickly, but nothing that remotely threatens Fulham's goal.
The Blues were way too slow in the first half. Looks like the same in the second.
