The Program: Can Florida State Avoid the Georgia Tech Upset in Charlotte?

Charlotte is home to the ACC Championship Game again this season, and unlike the last couple years, the tickets are not exactly moving fast. Florida State limps in off of a loss to in-state rival Florida. Georgia Tech enters off a beating at the hands of in-state rival Georgia.

Throw in the fact that Georgia Tech is 6-6, and if North Carolina and Miami were eligible, they'd likely be in the game ahead of the Yellow Jackets, and what you have is a mess.

The winner of this game ends up in the Orange Bowl and will be taking on the Big East Champ or, if the dominoes fall just so, Kent State. The prize here is the return to a BCS Bowl and a very real shot at a win in the bowl game.

Florida State has been the ACC's best team all season long, and what the conference desperately needs is for the Seminoles to go out and treat Tech the way Oregon treated UCLA a season ago. Make quick work of the Jackets and get their team prepared for their BCS Bowl.

However, Paul Johnson's system is always a major variable, and he'll be pushing to try and get his team their second ACC title of his tenure at Georgia Tech.
