Antoine Vermette was acquired by the Columbus Blue Jackets in a deadline trade with the Ottawa Senators. He has points in five of six games (four goals, three assists) he has played for Columbus and has fit beautifully into the Jackets second line.

His line-mates, R.J. Umberger and Jakub Voracek have increased their point production as well. Umberger has seven points in six games since Vermette's arrival, while Voracek has three points in the last three games.

Out of all the deals that were made by the deadline, this seems to be the best of the group. Of course, an argument can be made, but Vermette has made plays and his energy will help mount the Jackets first playoff run. He has been the most perfect fit for a team.

His arrival has now pushed the Blue Jackets into an elite squad.

Look for Columbus to get into the playoffs. Do not be surprised if they go far, and if you get a chance to see the Blue Jackets play, look for No. 50.

He's a good one.
