The pain was in the poll. All Michigan fans needed to know about their season lay there in black and white (with some other colors mixed in for flair). The final Associated Press college football poll of the regular season answered all the questions. Michigan was ranked No. 21 at 8-4. But its fate was told at the top of the poll as those four losses were to No. 1 Notre Dame, No. 2 Alabama, No. 4 Ohio State and No. 14 Nebraska (which could close in on the top 10 by beating Wisconsin on Saturday in the Big Ten title game). The Wolverines knew this year's schedule would be difficult with just six home games, but no one imagined they would lose every road game considered a preseason toss-up...
