Notre Dame punched its ticket to South Beach on Saturday night, capping off its perfect regular season with a 22-13 win over USC.

The drama at the top of the BCS has been diminished a bit, because unless some computers go haywire, the Fighting Irish will face off against the winner of this week’s SEC Championship Game for the crystal football on Jan. 7.
