The Celtics held on for a hard-fought 116-110 overtime victory.
The Orlando Magic played well at home, but they had to work too hard to eliminate a 10-point halftime deficit and to force overtime. They simply ran out of gas in the extra period.
Rajon Rondo's air-ball with 22 seconds remaining in overtime gave the Magic a chance to tie the game, but Jameer Nelson's three was off the mark.
The Celtics iced the game at the free-throw line, and they escaped the Amway Center with a win.

Despite the inexplicable air-ball in overtime, Rondo still nearly recorded a triple-double. He had 15 points, nine rebounds and 16 assists in the game.
It was another great all-around game for the Celtics star.
The Celtics will head home for a two-game homestand. They will host the Brooklyn Nets at 7:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday night. That game will be followed by a 7:30 p.m. matchup with the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday.
This was the the first of three very tough home games for the Magic. The San Antonio Spurs will be in town on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. game, and the Nets will invade the Amway Center at 7 p.m. on Friday.
