The Kansas City Chiefs put forth a valiant effort against the Denver Broncos in Week 12, but Peyton Manning proved to be too good to hold back for long, and the Broncos won at home by a score of 17-9.
Manning connected with Jacob Tamme in the second quarter to go ahead by one, and then he tossed a gorgeous 30-yard touchdown to Demaryius Thomas late in the third quarter to put the Broncos ahead for good.
Brady Quinn struggled to get much going in the passing game for the Chiefs, completing just over half his passes for 126 yards with zero touchdowns and one interception.
Jamaal Charles put forth a strong effort in the loss, rushing for 107 yards on 23 carries.
Knowshon Moreno was productive enough to keep the Broncos offense balanced, rushing for 85 yards on 20 carries in place of Willis McGahee, who's out with a knee injury.
The Broncos improved to 8-3 and will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 13, while the Chiefs fell to 1-10 and will host the Carolina Panthers next Sunday.
