Rafa Benitez's first match as manager of Chelsea will be a difficult one as his squad hosts defending Premier League champions Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Benitez has taken over for Roberto Di Matteo, who was fired last week following the club's embarrassing 3-0 defeat to Serie A side Juventus in the Champions League.

His No. 1 goal is to help striker Fernando Torres rediscover the goal-scoring form that he had at Liverpool a few years ago when Benitez was manager.

Several of Torres' best seasons in his club career happened when Benitez was his manager at Liverpool, and Chelsea fans are hoping that the Spanish manager can help Torres get back to that level.

Chelsea haven't won a league game in November yet after drawing to Swansea and Liverpool, and losing to West Bromwich Albion in their three league matches this month. The club's last league victory was Oct. 20 versus Tottenham.

The Blues have not been scoring as many goals as they were at the beginning of the year, and part of the reason for that are the recent struggles of Eden Hazard, Torres and Daniel Sturridge.

Chelsea have scored just three goals in their last three league matches, and against a City squad that has a lot of attacking firepower, failing to score multiple goals could easily result in another loss for the Blues on Sunday.

City are the best defensive team in the Premier League (fewest goals allowed) and have scored the second most goals this season. A victory for the club would move them ahead of rivals Manchester United into the top spot in the league table.

Chelsea would fall seven points behind City in the title race if they were defeated on Sunday, so this is a very important match for Benitez and the Blues.
