LAS VEGAS — The first two chances the University of Wisconsin men’s basketball team had to beat a highly ranked opponent during the non-conference portion of its schedule — probably the only two — have gone by the wayside.

The latest missed opportunity came Friday night at Orleans Arena, where Creighton junior forward Doug McDermott scored 30 points to power the No. 14 Bluejays to an 84-74 victory over the Badgers in a semifinal game of the Las Vegas Invitational.
