Swansea City vs. Liverpool: Stars to Watch for in Premier League Clash
Premier League action will heat up on Sunday at Liberty Stadium in Wales when Liverpool face off against Swansea City in the two teams' first meeting of the season.
Swansea are actually ahead of Liverpool in the Premier League table entering this weekend's showdown, but must win or at least draw to remain ahead of the Reds. The top storyline in Sunday's match is Brendan Rodgers' return to Wales to face his former club.
Here we get you set for Sunday's epic EPL clash with a breakdown of three stars to watch for throughout.
Where: Liberty Stadium, Wales
When: Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012
Start Time: 8:30 p.m. ET
Joe Allen, Liverpool
Joe Allen is one of only three Liverpool players to have started all 12 of the club's Premier League matches this season.
The 22-year-old midfielder will join Reds manager Brendan Rodgers in making his first return to Swansea to face his former team this weekend. Allen and Rodgers both left Wales last summer for Liverpool, which has made for some intriguing storylines.
Fans should keep an eye out for Allen's brilliant passing and vision on the break. Rarely does the 5'6" distributor fail to find the open man on the attack.
Michu, Swansea City
Spanish star Michu will certainly take center stage for the home side on Sunday. Swansea City's leading scorer this season, Michu has been remarkably consistent in midfield, scoring seven goals in 12 Premier League matches.
The 26-year-old is in his first season under manager Michael Laudrup, but he plays as if he's known the system all his life.
Although other Swansea players have had scoring success this season, none have been finding the net at a rate as effective as Michu. His name stands out and similarly, his game is impossible to miss.
Luis Suarez, Liverpool
Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez has been absolutely sensational for the Reds this season, scoring 10 goals in 12 Premier League appearances.
The 25-year-old currently leads all Premier League scorers including Manchester United's Robin van Persie, who finished with a league-high 30 goals last season. Suarez is on pace to score three dozen EPL goals in 2012-13.
Suarez is by far Liverpool's most active player offensively, having attempted 72 shots in 12 matches. That's more than twice as many as second-leading shot-taker Steven Gerrard (29).
Even more impressive or scary, depending on how you look at it, no other Reds player has scored more than one goal this year.
