Swansea City vs. Liverpool: Premier League Live Score, Highlights, Recap
Live Premier League commentary from the Liberty Stadium
Swansea: Tremmel; Rangel, Williams, Chico, Davies; Routledge (Dyer), De Guzman (Agustien), Pablo, Michu, Shechter (Ki), Britton.
Liverpool: Reina; Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Jose Enrique; Allen, Gerrard, Henderson (Shelvey); Downing (Cole), Suarez, Sterling.
Swansea went closest through a couple of Pablo shots which curled wide and a Routledge shot which needed a firm save from Reina, but Liverpool had the best of the chances from the game.
The first half saw Jose Enrique have a goal ruled out for offside, Glen Johnson miss a great one-on-one chance and Raheem Sterling hit the crossbar from a fine volley.
It wasn't enough to break the deadlock and the scoreline sums up the second half, which was devoid of intent or invention.
That's it from the live commentary today, I'll be back during the week for that Spurs vs. Liverpool match here on Bleacher Report so make sure you join me for that.
Thanks for your company today and see you next time.
Swansea 0-0 Liverpool
It's the end of a somewhat disappointing game in the end, and both teams take a point to extend their recent good unbeaten records in the league.
Swansea City will move one place up the table, as will Liverpool, with this point—but perhaps the Reds should be thinking they could have gone somewhat higher, and with a trip to Spurs looming midweek they might have done well to go for the points here with a little more intensity.
Full time at the Liberty Stadium
Swansea City 0 Liverpool 0
90+2'—Good shot! The corner is cleared out to Jonjo Shelvey who blasts a low effort in on goal, and Tremmel punches it clear. Gerrard gets onto the loose ball and Chico clearly kicks him as he lands, but the referee doesn't signal anything.
90+1'—Suarez darts down the right channel and wins the corner. He'll take it himself.
90'—Gerrard whips a low pass over into the six yard box and Shelvey doesn't quite know whether to stretch his leg or not; he doesn't, and the ball runs wide for a goal kick.
90'—Swansea standing firm as Liverpool probe, push and ponder—but ultimately cannot find room to shoot and really test Tremmel.
Four minutes to be added on.
88'—After a spell of Swansea possession fails to lead to a shot, Liverpool have the ball again. Can they fashion one last big chance to take the three points? Shelvey and Cole have had no impact whatsoever since coming on.
86'—TOP SAVE. Pablo bends the shot in, low and to the far corner, and Reina gets down to make an excellent stop.
85'—It's another cumbersome challenge from Allen, needless stuff. Free kick to Swansea on the edge of the box and left of centre—perfect for a right footed shot.
83'—Swansea work the ball left to right and then back to Ki in the centre—but his shot bends well over Reina's goalposts.
Swansea sub: Kenny Agustien on for Jonathan De Guzman.
81'—Nice pass into Michu's feet for a shot but it's blocked. Liverpool break at pace and it's 2 on 1 in Liverpool's favour, but the return from Sterling forces Suarez wide and the shot is saved in the end. Real opportunity that for the Reds.
80'—Final 10 minutes of the game. Sterling has room to cross but overhits his effort, and when Dyer tries to break clear he overruns the ball. Has either side got a bit of quality to win this game? It's been neat, but far too linear so far from both teams.
77'—Swansea cross into the centre and Michu falls to ground underneath Agger—he wants a penalty but it's not, nothing of the sort. Goal kick.
76'—Skrtel is offside as Liverpool look to put the ball back in the area—he's flagged offside, anyway, but he's certainly not stood offside.
Liverpool subs: Jordan Henderson and Stewart Downing off, Joe Cole and Jonjo Shelvey on.
Jose Enrique will move to left-back, Cole into the front three.
75'—Both players carry on, and Liverpool are going to make a change or two soon. Shelvey and Cole are ready.
72'—Stoppage here for some treatment. Downing lost the ball, Dyer raced towards goal and he collided with Pepe Reina. Both players getting attended to by doctors and physios, but should be alright.
70'—Fair to say the match needs a spark. Suarez tries to provide it by spinning away from Chico and the defender has to grapple the forward's shirt, pulling him to the ground and earning a yellow card. From the free kick, Agger aims a header towards the far post but it's another weak effort which doesn't test Tremmel.
68'—Reina punches a corner clear to the edge of the box and Dyer is onto it, lining up a volley. Downing gets out to block and it's another corner. Williams reaches the second one, but his header is poor and spins away towards the corner flag.
Swansea sub: Wayne Routledge off, Nathan Dyer on.
66'—Agger strides forward, swaps passes with Gerrard and tries to roll into the box—but his drag back is just blocked by Flores.
65'—Into the final 25 minutes of the game now and Liverpool have yet to make a change. Will Brendan Rodgers think he can go on and claim the three points here?
64'—Might have been headed just wide, that chance by Williams. Routledge tumbles into the box but isn't looking for the penalty—he just trips as he runs.
63'—CLEARED OFF THE LINE!! Ashley Williams gets up to head the ball at the far post, but the effort is kicked off the line by the waiting Joe Allen.
62'—Swansea getting into the game more. Pablo squares to Rangel who tries an ambitious shot, and the ball is deflected for a corner.
