It's a final in State College. The Penn State Nittany Lions defeated the Wisconsin Badgers 24-21 in overtime. Kicker Sam Ficken, who has struggled this year, hit three field goals, including the 37-yard game-winner in overtime.
After scoring 14 points in the first quarter, Wisconsin went cold, getting outplayed in the third quarter. The Badgers managed just seven points after the break
Penn State was led by running back Zach Zwinak who rushed for an impressive 179 yards against the tough Wisconsin defense. Quarterback Matt McGloin threw for 200 yards and a touchdown in the victory.
Wisconsin was led by running back Montee Ball, who ran for 111 yards and a touchdown. Ball became the all-time leader in NCAA career touchdowns.
The win gave the Lions eight on the year as they finished 8-4, 6-2 in the Big Ten.

The emotions of O'Brien tell it all. What a great victory. The Beaver Stadium crowd is going crazy. This is the perfect end for the 30 seniors who stayed this year.

Interesting that Montee is not on the field in this critical situation for the Badgers.
The Lions should be content now to just pound the ball with Zwinak. It's amazing how well he has ran against the Badgers. Wisconsin entered the came ranked ninth against the run in the country, giving up just 106.6 yards a game. Zwinak now has 170.
