The final whistle blows and United have won a bit of a nail-biter 3-1.
Goals from Jonny Evans, Darren Fletcher and Javier Hernandez overtuned a Jamie Mackie effort as disaster is averted at Old Trafford.

It all looked so promising for QPR until some nicely timed subsitutions turned the game in the favour of the home side. Still, should Sir Alex have picked a better team to start the game in the first place?
81'- Evra looks to feed van Persie, but the pass is inaccurate and Derry gets across to clear.
RVP has scored 11 goals in all competitions since making the move from Arsenal this past summer. Nothing for him yet today, though.
79'- Rooney dinks a beautiful pass to the on-rushing van Persie, but the Dutchman's volley hits the side netting once again for United.
Danny Welbeck meanwhile has been replaced by Nick Powell.
77'- Hoilett looks to play a neat one-two with Cisse, but the return pass is too strong to reach him.
QPR are looking a little shellshocked at the moment. Unsurprising really.

A fantastic run and through ball from Anderson as the subs combine.
71'- Jamie Mackie is allowed to run into space on the edge of the United area. His rasping effort flies wide of Lindegaard's post though.

Darren Fletcher gives the Red Devils the lead from another Wayne Rooney corner.
The Scotsman powers his header home to rest the nerves of the Old Trafford faithful.
67'- Rafael gets into a good position, cutting into the QPR area. Welbeck tries to flick his cross towards goal in trademark style, but can't get enough purchase on the ball.
QPR having to deal with some almighty United pressure at the moment.

It's Jonny Evans who restores parity at Old Trafford with a header from point blank range.
Welbeck wins a header from a corner at the far post, nodding down into the path of the defender who can't miss from there. 1-1.
61'- Another RVP corner is headed clear by the stubborn QPR defence.
The Red Devils have kept just two clean sheets so far this term, fewer than ten other clubs in the top flight.
59'- The subsitutions are made immediately as Scholes and Young are replaced by Chicharito and Anderson.
Meanwhile Rooney's free kick is punched clear by Cesar.
58'- Evra is felled by Mbia, winning a free kick in a good position close to the edge of QPR's area.
Unsurprisingly, Javier Hernandez is being prepared to come on for the Red Devils.
56'- It's QPR who are in the ascendancy now as Taarabt fires a free kick just over Lindegaard's goal.
If the Old Trafford crowd were restless at halftime, fingernails are being knawed off now.

Crazy stuff as QPR are the side to grab the iniative.
Dyer beats van Persie to get to the byline, before cutting back a cross that Lindegaard can only palm into the path of Jamie Mackie. 1-0 the visitors.
52'- Rooney feeds Young down the left channel, but the Englishman's cross can't pick out RVP in the area.
QPR break swiftly, but Cisse mishits his shot in a good position.
49'- Julio Cesar dawdles with the ball at his feet as Wayne Rooney comes rushing towards him. The keeper gets the best of a 50/50 tackle to prevent what could have been an embarassing moment for the Brazilian.
Only Southampton (30) have conceded more than QPR's tally of 27 goals this season entering today.
47'- Fletcher lifts a pass over the QPR defence, but van Persie was in an offside position when it was played.

Manchester United will have to play with a lot more cutting edge in the next 45 minutes if they're to penetrate a stubborn QPR back line.
