Peyton Manning is going to dominate the 2012 fantasy football playoffs and reward his owners with a championship. Those who were willing to take a risk on the trusty veteran cannot be happier with his performance so far in his resurgent 2012 season.

He still hasn’t hit his peak yet, either.

With running back Willis McGahee on the shelf for the rest of the season, more of the load is going to have to rest on Manning’s shoulders.

Despite losing McGahee, Manning’s confidence in his team is unwavering. He said he believes everyone will step up in place of the injured running back, according to Adrian Dater of The Denver Post.

Knowshon (Moreno) and Lance (Ball) and Ronnie (Hillman), and (they) all have to step up, and everybody else has to step their game up too, when you're missing one of your top players. And those guys will step up and do a good job.

No matter how much Manning believes in those guys, he undoubtedly believes in his own ability to lead.

That shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone as Manning has put together one of the finest careers in NFL history. His four MVP awards are the most for an individual player in league history and Manning may not be done adding to that total.

The Broncos’ remaining schedule is one of the most favorable in the league for a fantasy quarterback. Without McGahee, Denver will need to rely even more on Manning and his ability to command the team’s offense and put up points.

Manning’s final starts in 2012 will be at Kansas City, vs. Tampa Bay, at Oakland, at Baltimore, vs. Cleveland and vs. Kansas City. All of those teams are in the bottom third of the league with exception to Baltimore in pass defense and points allowed to opposing quarterbacks.

Even the Ravens are susceptible to being gouged this season, though. Keeping quarterbacks to a minimum fantasy game has been a result of a poor rush defense and timely turnovers to make up for the yards QBs have amassed against them this season.

For Manning, the Broncos are going to need him to step up as they make their playoff push just as much as you’re going to need him for your fantasy playoffs. Without McGahee, his performance becomes even more vital to the success of everyone involved.

If you’re like me and you waited to pick Manning and loaded up on running backs first, while others picked other quarterbacks over him, you’re probably sitting in a favorable position.

One thing I know is that I’m not the only one wishing Manning well during this final stretch of the season. He’s got the matchups and the ideal situation to absolutely blow up and bring home a championship for fantasy owners.

Take that to the bank.
