The Dallas Mavericks survived a late onslaught to knock off the New York Knicks 114-111 on Wednesday night.
Dallas led by seven with just two minutes left, but a Carmelo Anthony three-pointer and a Tyson Chandler three-point play quickly cut that lead to one. After Anthony missed an isolation jumper and Raymond Felton missed a desperation heave at the buzzer, however, the Mavericks escaped with the win.
They moved to 7-6 on the year while New York dropped to 8-2.

Player of the Game: OJ Mayo
Once again, Mayo led the Mavericks in scoring with 27 points. He didn't contribute in many other areas, but he was incredibly efficient shooting the ball: 10-of-17 from the field, 3-of-7 from long range, 4-of-5 from the free-throw line.
It's hard to imagine where Dallas would be right now without one of the best free-agent acquisitions of the summer.
