Still work for Liverpool to do then in the Europa League, which Brendan Rodgers will be disappointed with. This was certainly a big chance for them to finish off the group.
That's all for the live commentary for tonight, thanks as always for joining me and I'll be back at the weekend for more action from the Reds, as they take on Swansea City in the Premier League.
I'll see you again then.
That leaves Group A looking thus:
1. Anzhi, 10 points (qualified)
2. Liverpool, 7 points
3. Young Boys, 7 points
4. Udinese, 4 points
It could get confusing, but from Liverpool's perspective they simply need to beat Udinese to ensure progress.
If they draw, they need to hope Anzhi get something from Young Boys, otherwise the Swiss side progress.
A defeat for Liverpool will almost certainly see them exit, but it will also depend on the result from the other match.
Well that is nothing short of hugely frustrating for Liverpool. The points and qualification from the group were in their grasp with just minutes to go but they have not been clever enough in possession late on, and Young Boys have stolen a point with a thunderous late drive from Zverotic.
That means that Liverpool will have to equal or better Young Boys' result in the last match-day.
Matchday six fixtures:
Udinese vs. Liverpool
Young Boys vs. Anzhi Makhachkala
Full time at Anfield
Liverpool 2 Young Boys 2
90+2'—SO CLOSE—BUT BLOCKED. Suarez and Henderson both have chances to win the match late on from that free kick but Young Boys get it clear and that's it—the whistle goes.
90+1'—Suarez wins a free kick over on the right side. Last chance to send the defenders forward and try to sneak a late win. Gerrard will deliver.
Two minutes to be added on.
Young Boys come forward, nobody makes a telling challenge and Elsad Zverotic simply blasts the ball with his left foot, right into the centre and roof of the net through Pepe Reina's hands. It was hit extremely hard, but Reina will have questions asked of him there. Liverpool simply didn't hold onto the ball well enough. 2-2.

86'—Lovely exchange between Gerrard and Suarez in the box and it almost comes off for a clear chance on goal, but Gerrard just can't quite reach the return pass. Final minutes of the game and Liverpool are looking stronger at the moment.
85'—Steven Gerrard lines up a shot from a free kick from range, but he skies it well over the bar.
84'—The Reds are dropping deeper here. Bobadilla turns and finds room to shoot from distance, but it rolls well wide of goal.
83'—Matias Vitkieviez has come on as Young Boys' last sub and is almost immediately in with a chance on goal, before Henderson comes across and does well to clear.
80'—We're into the last 10 minutes now. Reina has to make a save from a shot by Zverotic, which is high and hit hard but straight down the middle of the goal. The game's opening up a bit and you sense the Reds might get chances on the counter.
Brilliant goal by Liverpool Joe Cole with the finish after good work by Gerrard & Suarez 2-1— Chris Kamara (@chris_kammy) November 22, 2012
78'—Wherrrre is Pepe Reina going there? The free kick comes in and Reina goes wandering out towards the ball but behind two players and the ball has dipped in front of him. It was never reaching him, and he's lucky Bobadilla could not control a shot.
78'—Sterling gets his first involvement as he cuts in from the right and takes a shot, but sees it blocked at close quarters. Nuri Sahin is booked for a challenge in midfield and a few choice words aimed at the referee.
Young Boys sub: Nuzzolo off, Michael Frey on.
Liverpool sub: Raheem Sterling on for Joe Cole. Cole ends the game with a goal and an assist, and has had a greater impact on this game than in every one of his other games this season put together.
Cole is up and running for the season and Liverpool are back in front, with less than 20 minutes left. A lovely spell of quick passing goes from Suarez to Gerrard and onto Cole in the middle of the box very quickly; Cole spins onto his left foot and drills the ball low underneath the goalkeeper. 2-1 Liverpool.
Liverpool 2 Young Boys 1
Joe Cole, 71 mins
71'—Raheem Sterling will be on as the third and final Liverpool change shortly.
70'—Liverpool work the ball right and left, but can't quite find the space for a clear shot or cross. Cole wins a corner, and the resulting cross from the far side by Assaidi strikes another defender. Can the Reds get one of their own teammates on the end of one this time?
...Not quite, Wolfli just managing to keep hold with Suarez lurking.
67'—Free kick to Liverpool out on the right flank. Good angle for Gerrard to bend a ball in...and Wolfli has to leap and palm the ball behind for a corner.
66'—A soft corner conceded by Downing as he tries to clear the ball near his own goal line. Liverpool try to break but Suarez is fouled.
