With two guards sitting on the bench injured, Keith Appling came alive.

Appling scored a season-high 22 points, playing all 40 minutes and leading Michigan State to a 74-70 win on Tuesday against feisty Boise State after Gary Harris injured his shoulder in the first 30 seconds of the game.
