The Texas Longhorns rebounded from their 84-74 loss to the Kansas Jayhawks in the Big 12 Tournament last week with an 74-54 victory over Austin Peay in their first round game of the NCAA Tournament.

A.J. Abrams led the Longhorns (29-6) in scoring netting 26 points on 10-16 shooting, which included 6-10 from three-point range.

DJ Augustin didn't score very much, only netting six points in the game, but his ability to drive got his teammates involved as he dished out eight assists.

In the loss, Austin Peay (26-11) was led by Todd Babington who finished with 11 points.

With the win the Longhorns will face the University of Miami (Fla.) in the second round of the NCAA Tournament as Miami beat St. Mary's (Ca) 78-64. Texas will have to deal with the Hurricanes' Jack McClinton who had 38 points in the win over St. Mary's (Ca).

I see this matchup being a very close and well fought game, but I say Texas will prevail in the end because they are so balanced on the offensive end and have been playing excellent defense of late.

Prediction: Texas 80, Miami 75. If the Longhorns want to go deep into the tournament they will need Connor Atchley and Damion James to continue to play well, and help DJ Augustin and AJ Abrams carry the Longhorns to the Final Four and possibly a National Championship.
