Colin Kaepernick or Alex Smith: Who Should Start for the San Francisco 49ers?
After a phenomenal performance against the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football, second-year quarterback Colin Kaepernick may have given San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh a tough decision to make going forward at the quarterback position.
Stick with the kid after a scintillating performance against one of the best defenses in the league, or go back to veteran Alex Smith, who had been playing well prior to suffering a concussion against the Rams? Not to mention the guy helped guide the team to the precipice of a Super Bowl appearance in 2011.
Of course, Harbaugh even having to make a decision will depend on when and if Smith is cleared to return. It will be very interesting to see the timing of when that occurs and how Harbaugh goes about dividing up the practice reps once it does.
In the video above, my colleague, Josh Zerkle, and I disagree about the direction Harbaugh and the 49ers should go, and somehow, I think you'll have an opinion, too.
Let us know in the comments below which quarterback should be under center for the Niners going forward: Colin Kaepernick or Alex Smith?
