Other Big Ten schools recruited forward Keita Bates-Diop longer than Ohio State had. The Buckeyes intensified their pursuit of him only this past summer.

But the 6-foot-7 junior from Normal, Ill., took to the Buckeyes as quickly as they did to him. He made an unofficial visit to campus on Sept. 8, and yesterday he gave coach Thad Matta his first commitment for the class of 2014...
