As a beneficiary of extremely favorable circumstances at Survivor Series 2012, CM Punk managed to ensure that his WWE title reign would pass the 365-day mark.
Some may call it cunning, whereas others may call it sheer luck, but one thing is for certain: Punk has accomplished a feat that very few have throughout the rich history of pro wrestling.
Certainly, such a milestone calls for a celebration of Punk and the WWE championship that he has carried with immense respect.
And what better way to do so than to introduce a new WWE title belt to commemorate both Punk and the post-Cena era?
Well, according to the subscribers-only section of F4WOnline.com (via WrestlingInc.com), the WWE champion may have a new thing to boast about very soon:
There has been talk of having a major celebration for WWE champion CM Punk on tonight's RAW as he celebrates 365 days with the strap. This isn't confirmed but there were rumblings over the weekend of debuting the new WWE title design soon.
There is no time like the present, however, to unveil the new WWE title to its recognized holder, Punk.
It would not only cement the Chicago native as a one-of-a-kind champion, but also impart to the audience that Cena is no longer alone as top dog in the WWE Universe.
Hypothetically, even if Punk were to, as has been reported, drop the freshly-minted belt to The Rock at the 2013 Royal Rumble, fans would always associate it with the "Straight Edge" star's unbelievable run (source: WrestlingInc.com).
