Pittsburgh Steelers at Cleveland Browns: Preview and Predictions

Josh ZerkleChief Writer IIINovember 19, 2012

Pittsburgh will enter northeastern Ohio with little swagger and no quarterback on Sunday. The scenario couldn't be better for an upstart Cleveland Browns team.

The Steelers (6-4) lost Ben Roethlisberger in Week 10 to multiple injuries. One of them, a loose rib that could puncture a chamber of his heart if jostled further, is potentially life-threatening. Second-stringer Byron Leftwich struggled in his outing against Baltimore in Week 11, apparently suffering a midsection injury of his own. His status for the game in Cleveland is uncertain.

Cleveland (2-8), meanwhile, has made the most of what it has: a 29-year-old rookie under center, a young-but-tough running back and an enterprising defense.  Cleveland nearly stole a game from Dallas in Week 11, forcing the Cowboys into overtime but eventually losing. This Browns team is on the verge of transforming from a team that plays in close games to a team that wins close games.
