John Daly Blows Great Start at the British Open

IconThe return of Daly - thwarted so swiftly.
When I checked the scores this morning, Big John had just notched an eagle 2 on the par four eleventh hole to go 5 under par and take the lead.
I thought that maybe, just maybe, The Big Handle had one more amazing binge, I mean tournament, left in him. But whether John ran out of Jack Daniels, or no one in the crowd would give him another cigarette - it all came crashing down the last 7 holes.
Daly and Carnoustie combined to put up a double, a triple and a string of standard bogeys to drop himself off the map.  But perhaps he did garner the instant nomination for the Van De Velde award - for best choker.
