Josh Freeman shrugged off a couple of interceptions—one of which was returned for a touchdown by Captain Munnerlyn—to bring his team back into this game. He led the Bucs on a last-minute, game-tying drive when he connected with Vincent Jackson for a 24-yard strike, and then he hit Jackson in the back of the end zone for the two-point conversion.
Freeman then led the Buccaneers on a game-winning drive in overtime, hitting Dallas Clark on the left sideline for a 15-yard touchdown to end the game. Freeman ended the game with 248 yards and three touchdowns.
Rookie running back Doug Martin's strong play continued in this game, as he rushed for 138 yards on 24 carries and caught four passes for 23 yards.
Cam Newton played a mistake-free game and threw for 252 yards and one touchdown, but he couldn't make the big plays down the stretch to keep the Bucs from coming back into the game.
The Buccaneers improved to 6-4 on the season and will host the Atlanta Falcons in Week 12, while the Panthers fell to 2-8 and will travel to face the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football.
