A depleted Miami Heat lineup still managed to get by the Phoenix Suns, disappointing the Arizona crowd with a 97-88 victory.
Dwyane Wade was out of commission once again with a foot injury, and LeBron James suffered from flu-like symptoms leading up to the contest, but still managed to log 41 mintues. That left a significant amount responsibility to the other member of the Big Three, and he responded.
Chris Bosh went 9-of-11 from the floor to lead all scorers with 24 points while also pulling down nine rebounds.
James had a lackluster performance by his standards, but still recorded 21 points on 8-of-20 shooting with seven rebounds and three assists.
The Suns had five players in double figures, but no one topped 20 points. Markieff Morris led the team’s offensive effort with 16 points off the bench.
Michael Beasley added 14 points while Goran Dragic chipped in 12, but Suns simply could not find the firepower to take advantage of Wade’s absence and push past the Heat.
Player of the Game: Chris Bosh
The Heat needed a big game from Bosh and they received it. He was remarkably efficient with his shooting and was productive on the glass.
As long as Wade is out, Bosh will need to step up on offense. Judging by his performance in this game, Miami should not have to worry too much about missing their star shooting guard.
Up Next for Heat
The Heat improved to 8-3 on the year and will head back to Miami for a four-game home stand that will kick off against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday.
Up Next for Suns
This was the third consecutive defeat for the 4-7 Suns and they will stay in Phoenix to hos the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday.
