The uniform of a college basketball team can define an era or one play. It is the ultimate source of pride to play in March for what is on the front of your jersey, not on the back.

If you don’t have your bracket filled out yet or you have trouble picking a team in one matchup, this list might help you make a decision for your bracket.

This is a look at the most symbolic, legendary, and down-right coolest looking unis that have been worn to the big dance.

10. Tennessee - 2007

The colors remind you of a creamsicle, don’t they? The V neck is a very '90s look for a 2007 team, but the overall combination of the shorts and the jersey makes for a great look. These uniforms were made by Adidas and represented this SEC club well.

9. Arizona - 1997

A National Championship trophy can make any uni look good, but a classic jersey and stylish shorts makes this uniform extremely recognizable. People buy these shorts even if they don’t like Arizona; they are just so clean looking!

8. Saint Joseph’s - 2004

A small school from the small A-10 conference played big in March of 2004 and looked good while doing it. Almost a high school looking jersey, it was simple. Good colors, but the black away unis took the cake. Great team, amazing uniform.

7. Georgetown - 1985

The Hoyas were a powerhouse and had the uniforms to back it up. The simple grey and dark blue jerseys intimidated a lot of squads in the '80s and '90s. Patrick Ewing rocked a grey t-shirt under his grey college jersey and that soon became a major trend in college basketball.

6. Michigan State - 2008

The jerseys just say “state” and everyone knows what that refers to. Great color combination with the dark green and the white, looks almost minty.

5. Duke – 2001

Duke’s black uniforms in 01 were sick. They were just simple enough without being boring, and had enough design to be as intimidating as Jason Williams, Shane Battier, Carlos Boozer, and Mike Dunleavy.

Come to think of it, of course they won the championship, they had a ton of NBA talent. No, I bet it was the jerseys…

4. Michigan – 1993

Probably a year that Chris Webber would rather forget, in the sense that he handed the NCAA Championship to North Carolina when Michigan had already won it.

But the fab five were trendsetters. They were the first ones to really rock the baggy shorts and black shoes with black socks (although not pictured). Some say the team brought hip hop and hoops together. But I say those people are dumb.

3. George Mason - 2006

George Mason makes another Final Four! Legit colors and the classic cut on the jersey makes this uniform just scream March madness.

2. Cincinnati – 2000

The Bearcats were sponsored by Jordan and had a lethal squad with lethal colors. The uniform alone made me consider rooting for a Conference USA team from Ohio; that was how cool those uniforms were.

1. North Carolina - 1982

Every footlocker in America sells retro versions of the shorts and jerseys from this squad. A championship team with yet another No. 1 next to them, this is the ultimate college basketball uniform. I am not a big fan of the short shorts, but the legendary status of this uniform is what makes it No. 1.
