Stackhouse Finds Niche with Brooklyn Nets

A funny thing happened to Jerry Stackhouse during his transition to coaching: He cracked the Nets’ rotation. Stackhouse, 38, who was signed in the offseason to assume a player-coach role under Avery Johnson, came off the bench last week in Orlando and never looked back. Like Rasheed Wallace playing across the Brooklyn Bridge, Stackhouse is a savvy veteran and fan favorite, proving that a high basketball IQ can often overcome competition from younger and faster bodies.
