Few thought Marco Scutaro would be the biggest difference-maker of the 2012 trade deadline. The Rockies quietly sent him to the Giants on July 27 for a minor-leaguer. The Dodgers had traded for Hanley Ramirez two days earlier, a move that gained tremendous publicity but gave Los Angeles just modest offensive production.
