WWE Rumor Mill: March 18 (Spoilers Inside)

Celeste WinchesterSenior Analyst IMarch 18, 2009

Hi people and welcome to another episode of the rumor mill
Let's get started shall we?

There were two tapings for Friday night Smackdown, one for March 20 and the other for March 27.

WWE SmackDown Tapings for March 20

Dark Match:
Jimmy Wang Yang defeated Eric Escobar.

Triple H came out and cut a promo about Randy Orton. Triple H called Orton a disease and said he was the cure.

Ah, healed via sledgehammer.

Triple H defeated Vladimir Kozlov. The usual here; nothing unexpected or earth shattering. Triple H won with the Pedigree.

MVP defeated Shelton Benjamin with the Playmaker to become the new United States Champion. Good match here, with MVP deserving the win.

Hate to say I told you so , but I told you so. Perhaps now Shelton can get out of the rut he has been stuck in and reach for heavier gold.

Shawn Michaels defeated Kane with Sweet Chin Music. Shawn got a huge pop for appearing on SmackDown.

Jeff Hardy defeated The Brian Kendrick in an Extreme Rules match. Hardy won with the Swanton.

Will someone please explain to me what the heck The Dancing Stoner a.k.a. Kendrick is doing in an Extreme Rules Match?

WWE finally did make an announcement for the Von Erichs going into the Hall of Fame this year.

The Undertaker defeated JBL in a non-title match. Taker won with his Hell's Gate submission move.

God, I love that finisher.

Vickie Guerrero got some huge heat as she announced the winner of the Triple Threat match at WrestleMania will be the Champion of her heart.

John Cena came out and got involved, turning Big Show and Edge against each other after they formed some kind of truce. Edge accidentally speared Vickie which led to Show chokeslamming Edge and leaving with Vickie.

Damn, I have been waiting for Edge to spear Vickie for so long, I can hardly wait.

You had better believe I will be playing that scene over and over again, I just hope it lives up to my imagination and expectations.

WWE Friday Night SmackDown, Airing Next Week, 3/27:

Kane, Christian Cage, Shelton Benjamin and Finlay defeated MVP, Mark Henry, CM Punk and Kofi Kingston.  Kane got the win after a chokeslam on Punk.

Big Show defeated Jesse and Festus in a Handicap match. Show got the win with his knockout punch.

Carlito, Primo Colon and Brie Bella defeated The Miz, John Morrison and Nikki Bella. Colons and Brie got the win with the Backstabber.

Matt Hardy defeated R-Truth with a Twist of Fate.

Maryse defended her Divas Championship against Michelle McCool. The match ended in DQ when Gail Kim made her return and hit Michelle with a missile dropkick before attacking Maryse.

Gail is back and with a vengeance.

Shawn Michaels came out to cut a promo on The Undertaker. Shawn was dressed in white mocking Taker and said he represented the light while Taker represents the shadows.

Shawn quoted scripture from the bible and stated that he will be Mr. Wrestlemania and end Taker's streak.

Dark Main Event:
Edge beat Jeff Hardy. Edge got the win after spearing Jeff with interference from Matt Hardy.

I am getting so bored with the Hardy brothers storyline, it is becoming way too predictable for me.

In a news release, WWE once again confirmed that Mickey Rourke will be appearing at WrestleMania.  McMahon, however, only said that “Rourke will be in attendance at WrestleMania.”

In yesterday’s release about Rourke’s appearance at the show, WWE wrote that “you never know what is going to happen at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania.

Well now, this should separate the real superstars from the wannabes. Looking forward to seeing if he can walk the walk, not just talk the talk.

Stone Cold

There has been no match confirmation or advertising regarding Austin vs. Jericho, as much as I would love to see Austin hand Jericho's backside to him.

I am pretty sure this is not going to happen, unless Austin does a spur of the moment thing. Let's face it; if there was to be a match, Vince would have advertised the heck out of it and milked it for all that it is worth.

On the Diva front
Sorry people, still no confirmation for the 25 Diva Battle Royal. What we do have is 19 with two possibles.

Well that's all for today, tune in next time for all your rumors and gossip.
