The Houston Rockets improved to 4-4 with a thrilling 100-96 victory over the New Orleans Hornets on Wednesday night.
Houston led by 19 at halftime, but the Hornets fought back and eventually cut the lead to two with just under two minutes left on a clutch Greivis Vasquez three-pointer. The Rockets, however, were able to get multiple stops in the final minutes to secure the home victory.
Vasquez, who racked up 24 points, five rebounds and nine assists, was admirable in the loss, but he couldn't help the Hornets from dropping to 3-3.

Player of the Game: James Harden
Ho-hum. Just another 30 points on an efficient 20 shots for Harden, who continues to earn the huge contract that Daryl Morey awarded him in the offseason.
The dynamic combo guard added three rebounds, four assists and a block for good measure.
Omer Asik had yet another double-double (15 points, 12 rebounds) to go along with two blocks, and deserves mention here, as well.
