As the winter transfer window approaches, one position stands out above all others as a need for Liverpool.
Put simply, the Reds need strikers.
First-year manager Brendan Rodgers got off to a slow start at Anfield, but Liverpool have shown steady improvement in recent weeks. One problem that remains, however, is the lack of senior strikers in the squad.
England international Andy Carroll was loaned out to West Ham near the end of the summer transfer window, and Liverpool failed to bring in a replacement before the window slammed shut. When new signing Fabio Borini suffered an injury early in the season, Uruguayan international Luis Suarez was left as the only recognized senior striker on the team.
Suarez has shown he’s capable of scoring important goals for Liverpool, but he can’t shoulder the burden alone. So with that in mind, B/R lead writers Michael Cummings and Will Tidey discussed which moves Liverpool should and should not make this winter.
