I am one of the biggest Yankee fans around, so in this article, please do not feel inclined to call me a Boston biased you know what.

Anyway, I am not your typical Yankee fan. I acknowledge when the Red Sox are better than us, and I acknowledge "stupid" Yankeeisms which annoy me incredibly. That is why I am writing this article.

As lots of you know, this is the last year of Yankee Stadium, as they are building a new stadium right across the street. Boy, am I pumped. Whenever I enter Yankee stadium, I feel disappointed for the masses flocking to the House That Ruth Built to be fulfilled with the Yankee Stadium experience. More like the Yankee Stadium Bullshit. Yes, I acknowledge that Yankee Stadium had had its share of incredible moments, but the Yankee faithful can't live in the past. Especially considering that our last championship was in 2000, and Boston has had 2 since then.

To put it simply, Yankee Stadium is a dump. It reeks of beer and sweat, and looks like one big prison cell. It has no class or charm to it whatsoever, and the media makes it seem like Yankee Stadium is as big a landmark as the Eiffel Tower. In fact, I suggest that most baseball fans wait until the new stadium opens to visit a Yankee's game.

And so, I spend much time contemplating why Yankee fans build so much nostalgia when there is a fantastic complex in the making. It must be the tap water or something, because my message isn't getting through.

    Wow, harsh criticism.

    Intersting perspective, though.

I agree the fan experience differs from the players experience

When most people speak of Yankee Stadium nostalgia they are usually speaking from a player perspective.

In this era of improving accommodations the place no longer holds cathedral status

The place is a dump and thankfully, is being replaced

Yankee Stadium is a classic, you want to talk about a dump visit Fenway where most of the seats dont even face the field and where you could be positioned behind a pole disrupting your view. Yankee stadium may not be what it used to be I will miss it. I will admit it, Yankee stadium isn't that nice when you walk around where the concession stands out but when you step out of that and onto where all the seats are it is a chapel.
