Northern Iowa vs. Purdue

Line: Purdue -8.5

Northern Iowa defeated Illinois State 60-57 in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament finals to gain entry into the NCAA Tournament as a twelve seed in the West Region.  The Panthers are 23-10 in a year of mostly ups and a few downs. Northern Iowa breezed through most to the regular season before slumping in the second half. The Panthers were able to pull it together again and have now won five games in a row.

Purdue completed their run to the Big Ten post season title with a 65-61 victory over Ohio State. Purdue did not shoot the ball particularly well, but did control the boards and take care of the ball. Purdue finished the Big Ten Season ranked 2nd in the league in offense and 3rd in defense. Ranked 17th in the nation, Purdue has now won three games in a row.
