Bringing a group of college-aged boys to Cancun may seem like a recipe for disaster, but eight NCAA basketball teams will head to the Yucatan Peninsula to face off in the Cancun Challenge.

The tournament has hosted teams such as Kentucky and Missouri in the past, and current NBA stars John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, Kenneth Faried and Landry Fields have all played in the unique competition.

This year, Wichita State and Western Kentucky are the two participating teams that made it the 2012 NCAA tournament. The Shockers went to The Dance as a No. 5 seed, but were upset by VCU in their first game. The Hilltoppers were unfortunate enough to be a No. 16 seed and started their campaign against eventual national champion Kentucky.

All the teams will start play in the United States and will then head to the Moon Palace Resort for two days of action in a ballroom that has been converted into a basketball court for the event.

Details for the tournament are provided at TripleCrownSports.com. Here is everything you need to know about the competition.
