And suddenly it would seem that the race is on.

It’s been a strange year for the Heisman. At one point it appeared West Virginia QB Geno Smith would run away with the award, though that feels like a distant memory at this point.

With 11 weeks in the books, we’re running out of games to watch and these players have limited moments to get their point across. Despite the best efforts of a handful of stars, there’s still a clear favorite in this race at the moment.

As we are all aware, however, this is crunch time. This is where the award is won and lost, and we saw one hopeful candidate showcase that on Saturday. Beating the No. 1 team in their building will certainly do that.

Some familiar names are included, and a new challenger cracks the top five and then some.
