Scott Chandler, the Bills' behemoth tight end who dominated the New England Patriots in their first meeting this year, was almost as good in the rematch.
Chandler, owned by 33 percent of fantasy teams, would be a decent pickup for fantasy owners if he's still available this upcoming week.
At 6'7", Chandler is one of the biggest targets in the NFL.
After catching four balls for 62 yards and two touchdowns against the Patriots in their first matchup, Chandler went five for 65 with another TD in Sunday's 37-31 loss to New England.
Chandler is sure to get his share of touches every game—as he's averaging over five per game, and has sure hands. But, he's not a threat to break a long one.
After grabbing four touchdowns in the first four games of the year, Chandler cooled off considerably before snaring a three-yard touchdown Sunday. He is averaging about 13 yards per reception and should get plenty of chances to improve that over the balance of the season.
The Bills face only one top-10 passing defense the remainder of the season—the New York Jets in the finale. Three of their remaining matchups feature teams in the bottom third of the passing defense ranks, including the Dolphins, Colts and Jaguars.
Of course, fantasy owners should keep in mind that a possession tight end like Chandler could be even more effective than the Bills' wideouts if the Bills run into a hot team teeing off on the quarterback.
Less time for Ryan Fitzpatrick to throw means more screens, dumps and outlet passes to a guy like Chandler, especially when they play a top-ranked defense like the Seattle Seahawks.
Chandler could have a solid run during the remainder of the season, and if you need a good No. 2 tight end, he'd make a serviceable choice.
