The Boston Celtics used a total team effort to defeat the Milwaukee Bucks 96-92 Saturday night, improving their record to 3-3.

Paul Pierce led the way with 25 points, followed by Kevin Garnett's 18 and Jason Terry's 15. Getting a 12-point contribution from Jeff Green off of the bench was a major plus as well.

Despite losing the first three quarters, Boston took the fourth quarter by an eight-point margin to earn the victory.

Milwaukee's loss can be placed on the shoulders of some players, but Monta Ellis isn't one of them. With 32 points and eight assists, the high-volume shooter paced the Bucks' offense from tape to tape. He was given support from four other double-digit scorers, but Brandon Jennings' four-point night made the hill too steep to climb.

Player of the Game: Paul Pierce

Pierce is no longer a young man, but he hasn't lost his scoring touch. The savvy small forward dropped 25 points and hauled down nine rebounds Saturday night, giving Boston a reliable threat from the wing for 35-plus minutes.

He wasn't all that efficient, but the veteran was still a plus-eight on the night. Even though he's lost a step on both ends of the floor, he still has the wherewithal to understand how to put himself in successful spots.
