In a battle of star-less teams, the Chicago Bulls defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 87-80 in the United Center.
Nate Robinson led all scorers with 17 points in 30 minutes, one of five Bulls players that finished in double-figures. Joakim Noah also added 17 on 58 percent shooting from the floor.
For the T-Wolves, Nikola Pekovic led the team with 18 points, while Andrei Kirilenko had racked up close to a triple-double, with 11 points, 12 rebound and 7 assists.
Both teams met in Chicago without their stars in uniform, as Derrick Rose, Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio all have been out this season with severe injuries. To make matters worse for Minnesota, shooting guard Brandon Roy did not dress because of soreness in his surgically-repaired knee.
Player of the Game: Nate Robinson
The Bulls needed production at point guard with Derrick Rose out for awhile and Robinson provided a shot of offense for a offensively-challenged Bulls team.
The dynamite 5’9” scorer shot 8-of-14 from the field on this night, while giving slower Minnesota guards Luke Ridnour and Alexey Shved fits all evening.
Next Up for Minnesota: The Timberwolves head to Dallas to face Mavericks on Monday night.
Next Up for Chicago: The Bulls stay at home and await the Boston Celtics for their Monday matchup
