As a freshman two years ago on a No.1-ranked Ohio State men’s basketball team, Lenzelle Smith Jr. was late to the party. He had surgery during the summer to repair a torn wrist ligament and ended up playing only a handful of minutes in 20 games. With a starting spot up for grabs last year, however, Smith claimed it and held it for all 39 games with a jack-of-all-trades approach. He totaled 35 points in NCAA Tournament wins over Cincinnati and Syracuse that sent the Buckeyes to the Final Four.
